Our group of 27 sailed on an Avalon Danube Cruise in August 2024. We truly enjoyed our river cruise, it was leisurely and relaxing. The cruise navigated through inland waterways and we got to see closeup and stunning views of the European countryside, historical sites and nature. The ship accommodation was just superb, the food was par excellence. We had expertly guided excursions and the Cruise Director and crew were perfect, accommodating and helpful. We loved every moment of our cruise and it was truly unforgettable!

Danube Cruise

We were a group of 8 pax aboard the Tulip time Avalon Cruise and enjoyed the eight days thoroughly. The experience was much above our expectation. We were really pampered by the cruise staff. The cabins, food, drinks, entertainment excursions were all A+ Grade. It was wonderful relaxing on the bed and the sofa of our room enjoying the panoramic view of the villages pass by flora and fauna while the cruise was moving. I would definitely love to travel on the Avalon cruise sometime again.

Tulip Time Cruise

Romantic Rhine was my second cruise with Avalon! From the beginning to end our cruise was fantastic! It was so pretty sailing along the Rhine with vineyards and castles.

People think cruises are not for younger people who couldn't be more wrong! There were bicycles on the cruise, the hiking trips were well planned & the active host had yoga in the mornings and games while we were sailing. There was happy hour every evening & entertainment every night. Our cruise director had a contagious smile; it was hard not to enjoy his chirpy tid-bits of commentary. The chef & restaurant manager ensured we had freshly made vegetarian meals. The housekeeping staff are so meticulous & the crew are always smiling, cheerful and go out of their way for you! We did a lot of sightseeing along the way - the only thing to lament is 'I wish had more free time!' I'm super impressed with the impeccable service year on year! Keep it up Avalon :)

Romantic Rhine

This was our second river cruise with Avalon after 2019. This time it was from Bucharest to Budapest covering Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia and Hungary. We loved it in all respects. We saw so many unheard of beautiful small towns - Constanta, Rousse, Veliko Tarnovo, Arbanassi, Vidin, Belogradchik, Donji milanovac, Lepenski Vir, Novi Sad, Sremski Karlovci, Vukovar, Mohacs, Pecs etc; In between there were so many other nice villages. Out of around 108 passengers, we two were only vegetarians. On the first day we had a talk with chef who took great care of us during entire journey. There was some entertainment program ever evening after dinner which was very enjoyable. Every evening there was happy hour from 5.45 to 6.45. Wine and beer were served to the guests. The service was absolutely top class. Every crew member served with a smile on their faces. Everyone was superb. Looking forward to next cruise eagerly...

Balkan Cruise

We are back from our two week Europe Cruise, and have to tell you that it was easily the best vacation we have taken in many years. The experience was visually breathtaking, but truly what makes a holiday complete is the experience of meeting and interacting with such generous hearted people, for who impeccable service and care is a way of life, make the journey of a holiday so. Not easy to hold together a group of 117 diverse and culturally different people on a ship, but Avalon has put together an excellent team and system and process to make it quite seamless and simple.

The Cruise Director Tibor was an exceptionally attentive person, lways with a smile and ready to help and make it easy for us. Head Chef, Adrian, made an effort to take care of all my dietary needs. Every service person on board was outstanding. Our young room house keeper, Sandy was so pleasant to see every morning. I could go on and on. Avalon has their model right!

Magnificent Europe

The Cosmos tour to Japan, our first, came as a pleasant surprise. A big shout out to our Tour Director Yuki. He was excellent - amiable, knowledgeable, always helpful and spoke good English - a big help in Japan where the locals have a poor grasp of the language. The hotels where we were put up by Cosmos were good and had decent sized rooms - an issue that is often a problem in Japan. The transportation and logistics were very good too.

We would be remiss if we did not mention here that we were overwhelmed by the helpfulness and kindness of the local populace. Although language was an issue, it never really impinged on our ability to move around freely. Visiting places of interest, using google maps and google translate was fairly easy. We were even brave enough on arrival at Narita airport, to use public transport to reach our hotel. On the odd occasion when google maps got it wrong, the locals were beyond helpful, using sign language and even escorting us to our destinations on occasion.

Highlights of the South Pacific

Very satisfied with the Cosmos Splendors of Italy tour. Everything went of very smoothly. The itinerary - sites, excursions, schedule of stops, especially the smaller towns in between overnight stops were fantastic.

We had a wonderful time with Avalon. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The ship staff were extremely courteous and were always ready to serve with a smile. We had a very large choice of food during every meals. Our Cruise Director was fantastic, ever smiling, ever watchful to provide information / services needed by all. He almost spoilt us with high quality service. We had very well planned and executed excursions, they gave us a wonderful bird’s eye view of the places we visited. The local guides we had on the tours were also extremely knowledgeable and ever willing to provide information and guidance. Our Ship Cabins were extremely comfortable. Though it was a small ship, it had all that we needed during our cruise. Overall - TOTAL CUSTOMER DELIGHT !!! We would love to use Avalon again for our small ship cruising needs.

The tour was very well planned & well organized. The Globus team were always available to clear all our doubts. On all the days tour started on-time. Our tour director who belonged to the same region had an in depth knowledge of each place we were passing through. He explained in detail with relevant history pertaining to the place. That has given more colors to all the places we visited. We were a mixed crowd where people were from different parts of world. We had a tremendous interaction & all were happy to share their experiences. Throughout the trip we did not have to worry about the luggage as it was efficiently taken care of. The experience we had with the Globus tour was far beyond our expectations and is a trip which we will cherish always. To visit South America had been a long cherished dream, confused with safety and security issues. My friend from a travel agency highly recommended Globus. All I had to was to choose an escorted tour from a hefty brochure and everything was taken care of – from carefully chosen hotels to a range of restaurants and sightseeing tours. Globus’ hotel selection is on point right through with picturesque, well-situated hotels that are amazingly adept at checking in 30 people at once in no time and providing large rooms and beds replete with a huge collection of pillows. Our Tour Director, Fernando Bordallo, brought with him 31 years of experience. He efficiently orchestrated all the tours and transfers with precise instructions on the how, where and what of each destination so that the large group seemed to move as one. Our travel companions were from all over the world, from the US and Canada to the Philippines and beyond. We learnt so much of their lives and families over shared meals and coach rides, adding a new dimension to our travels.

Because of the excellent itinerary of Globus, they covered all the historical places in Greece which I've always dreamed about. My previous experience with them was of their efficient services. It was indeed the best trip beyond any shadow of doubt. From accommodation to coach, everything was class apart. Met beautiful people who were as caring as my own people. Our Globus Tour gave us a taste of many things Iceland has to offer. Despite being the last departure of the season we had a full coach of 42 people. Albeit being a fast paced tour, we covered all the must see places at Iceland. A big blessing is to have dinner included for all the 7 nights - even for a vegetarian like me. We had an amazing guide Ms. Holmfridur - who is also a wildlife photographer. She had some folk tales to tell us while the bus was in motion & very patiently answered all our questions. The hotels chosen were some of the best ones in terms of location & comfort - Hilton Nordica is presently the best hotel in Reykjavik.

Now that we are back from our Globus tour South American Odyssey, I thought I would let you know how much we enjoyed the experience. The Amazon pre tour extension was really interesting, and the eco lodge we stayed at was comfortable though basic. The night safari looking for crocodiles under an eerie full moon was thrilling. The Iguassu Falls were truly awesome and Rio was like any big city. The highlight of our tour was Buenos Aires, the tango show and Bariloche and the lake crossing to Chile, which we would never have discovered on our own. The post tour extension to Peru's Cuzco and Machu Picchu was truly unforgettable. We stayed at some lovely hotels too, and all the travel arrangements were perfect. All in all a wonderful experience, history and culture brought to life excitingly by Christian, our excellent Tour Director. Thanks so much for recommending this tour. I will recommend it to my friends.

We must confess that our tour of California with Globus was truly the best in all respects – great hotels, an excellent and committed Tour Director (who also had a great sense of humor!), and a vacation that was planned so that both the travelling and sightseeing’s happened leisurely, without feeling hurried at any time.
